To anyone reading this, you are not alone! My name is Sophie and I am a therapist-in-training at Sol Health.
I understand that starting therapy can feel overwhelming, and I am here to support you through that process. My goal is to create a safe and nurturing environment where you can let down your walls and be authentically you. I use a person-centered approach in therapy, offering understanding, empathy, warmth, and validation. I will tailor my methods to suit your unique needs and help you achieve your therapeutic goals. Depending on your reasons for seeking counseling, I will incorporate cognitive behavioral, mindfulness, and psychodynamic techniques into our work together.
I am entering my final year in my graduate studies as a Mental Health Counselor at Fordham University. My areas of focus include anxiety, depression, grief, relationships, families, dating, self-esteem, body image, disordered eating, life transitions, and career development. In the future, I aspire to open a private practice where I can integrate my background in health-supportive culinary arts with counseling. This will allow me to work with individuals on their relationships with food and themselves, and how these relationships impact their self-esteem, body image, and romantic connections.
I am looking forward to connecting with you and providing compassionate support as you navigate your healing journey.
