Simran Preet

Therapist-in-training

Simran Preet is a compassionate therapist-in-training at Sol Health. She is currently in her second year of the Mental Health Counseling program at Yeshiva University. With a solid foundation in psychology and mental health, she is undergoing clinical training at both Sol Health and the Parnes Psychology Training Clinic. This invaluable experience allows her to connect with clients from various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, focusing on the challenges of trauma, depression, anxiety, and life transitions.

Simran’s therapeutic approach is rooted in empathy and cultural humility. She utilizes evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and is dedicated to creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can feel empowered to explore their struggles and cultivate resilience. Her previous work with adult clients who have faced complex childhood trauma has deepened her understanding of significant emotional challenges, reinforcing her commitment to supporting others on their healing journeys.

Passionate about the intersections of mental health and culture, Simran is actively involved in research focused on trauma and asylum seekers, deeply considering the mental health needs of marginalized populations. Looking towards the future, she envisions pursuing a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, with the goal of enhancing her expertise in trauma-focused therapy and making meaningful contributions through both research and clinical practice.
