Olivia Kanestrin

Therapist-in-training

Firstly, I want to say I am glad you are here! My name is Olivia and I am currently a second-year Master’s student at Montclair State University. I previously got my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology which opened my eyes to the importance of mental health.

As your therapist-in-training, I am committed to providing a compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can feel safe to express yourself, emotions, and inner thoughts. Vulnerability can be scary, which is why it is important that we work at a pace that is best for you. I take an empathetic approach, actively listening to your current experiences and struggles, while creating plans that would be most effective for your individual needs and goals. Our sessions together will be focused around techniques and tools that would be useful for your overall growth, including using a strengths based approach, emotional regulation techniques, incorporating healthy coping mechanisms, cognitive behavioral therapy, and psychoeducation.

It is my role as your therapist, to help guide and support you in your journey towards healing and self-discovery. I look forward to working with you!
