Dr. Linlin Fan began her academic journey studying Psychology and Communication in Mainland China before pursuing graduate studies in Communication in Hong Kong. She initially worked as a financial journalist, but her passion for mental health led her to transition into the field.
Dr. Fan moved to the U.S. to earn her Master of Social Work (MSW) at New York University (NYU), where she began her clinical social work career. She gained experience as a therapist at a hospital’s outpatient mental health clinic in New York City before relocating to the Bay Area. In California, she worked for another year in a hospital setting before establishing her private practice. She later earned her Doctorate in Clinical Social Work (DSW) from the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Fan specializes in treating individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, complicated grief, and trauma. She is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and has completed training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as well as Complicated Grief Treatment (Level 2) at Columbia University.
