Kev is a first-generation Cambodian-American and identifies as queer. As a therapist-in-training, Kev primarily practices mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy. He is currently exploring other modalities, including dialectical behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, family and group therapy, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing. As a researcher, Kev’s interests include studying addiction among youth. In 2023, Kev completed Stony Brook University’s Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities program, focusing on loneliness assessment in community and web-based interventions for adolescents and young adults with alcohol-related disorders.
Kev is an AmeriCorps and Fulbright alumnus. He studies at Columbia University School of Social Work, concentrating in Advanced Clinical Social Work and working towards a Master of Social Work. He is also pursuing a Master of Public Health at the Mailman School of Public Health. Kev’s interests include health technology, health policy, healthcare management, and clinical social work.
Upon completing his dual master’s program, Kev intends to start a rehabilitation center to treat clients struggling with addiction.
