Heiddi Zalamar is a bilingual licensed mental health counselor (LMHC). She graduated from NYACK College with a Master of Arts in Counseling in 2008.
For 17 years, Heiddi has had a broad range of experiences in the helping profession including foster care, clinical therapy and crisis work. She has worked with youth and families using a variety of methods including: Behavior Modification, Play therapy, CBT and TF-CBT. She has trained in Mindfulness techniques and has conducted groups for Anger Management and Self-Care.
She believes that every person has the innate capacity for healing and with the right supports, can improve their life for the better. For Heiddi, therapy is a powerful tool and a therapist walks alongside the client providing that support as the client works to heal. She has worked with clients around Anxiety, Depression, behavior issues, trauma and parenting support. She provides a safe space and uses a strengths-based, non-judgmental approach to assist clients in reducing their symptoms and achieve treatment goals. Her mission is to make a difference one person at a time.
