Hello! I’m Chelsea Adair, a therapist-in-training, currently pursuing my master’s in Social Work at Columbia University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Sexuality Studies at UC Davis and have been working in mental health for the past seven years. I’ve had the pleasure of working in both community mental health as a Case Manager, and currently as a Mental Health Counselor working at an inpatient psychiatric hospital. My journey into mental health is driven by a deep passion for helping others navigate life’s challenges and helping them to discover their inner strengths, in a world that has become increasingly overwhelming to navigate.
It is my goal to create a warm, empathetic space where folks feel heard, supported and accepted but also challenged to grow. Everyone comes to this space with their own unique experiences and challenges that have contributed to who they are, and I strive to honor that in our work together. Therapeutic modalities that I plan to integrate include Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing while utilizing a strengths-based approach to help clients create the change they want in their lives.
I am excited for the opportunity to work alongside you, and to help you develop skills that will help you achieve your goals and manage life’s stressors!
