Therapist-in-training

Are you a young adult who is skeptical about therapy and needs a safe space to process your thoughts and feelings?  Do you need assistance with easing stress, building mindfulness practices, building self-awareness and developing your self-worth in the midst of life transitions? I am a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist and Mental Health Counseling therapist-in-training who would like to better understand your needs and support you on this wellness journey. I am a second year Advanced Certificate in Mental Health counseling student at the University of Buffalo and I am ready to help you find new techniques to self-regulate.

I work with young adults who struggle with finding time for self-care, self-love, anxiety or navigating difficult life transitions. My focus areas include help with increasing self-awareness, building new relationships, coping mechanisms, family dynamics, difficulties in school, stress management, managing burnout, employee wellness, anxiety, finding a career path, relationship challenges and pregnancy.  My approach is client-centered, holistic, solution-focused, goal-driven and I use evidenced-based approaches to meet you wherever you are in your journey of addressing unfamiliar behaviors and hidden traumas. All you need is a quiet space and/or headphones if you are sharing a space with others. I have created a safe space where identifying what's happening in your body can help you understand your mental health. Let’s begin with ease, talking about your day-to-day experiences, connecting, finding patterns and using some creativity and helping you unveil what makes you feel most alive.

What you can expect: In our first session, we may explore your relationship with therapy in the past, your expectations, discuss any questions you may have about therapy/ my experience as a therapist or just simply talk about what happened during your day. If you feel comfortable, we can do CBT exercises, mindfulness prompts, non-verbal movement, play or art exercises. We can get creative and use any materials that you have nearby or in your home. I am trained in Creative Arts Therapy, restorative yoga level 1, Child-Parent Psychotherapy, Perinatal mental health and attachment-based modalities. I am dedicated to helping you discover new ways to increase your mental health awareness & self-care practice.⁣

Fun facts: I love taking dance classes, hiking & outdoor activities, playing with my toddler, traveling, trying new ramen spots, Harry Potter and I hope to one day run self-care retreats fo parents and children!
