Hello! My name is Alyssa (she/her) and I am SO excited to meet you! I am a Master of Social Work student at Binghamton University in my final year. I also have a B.S. in Psychology from SUNY Oneonta and an M.S. in Student Affairs Administration from Binghamton University. My professional career has been focused on guiding college students in transition, and helping students have the best experience possible. A huge area of passion for me is working with students in transition - from brand new students adjusting to college life to students going through major life transitions. The college experience is challenging in many ways and I hope to be a resource for my clients as they navigate this stage of their lives.
In session I will provide a warm and welcoming environment where you can feel comfortable, supported, and heard. We will talk through your concerns and create goals and strategies to help you manage and cope with any struggles you may be experiencing. We will create strategies and tools to help you manage stressors and transitions. You play an important role in your treatment, and we will work collaboratively to help you work towards your goals and ambitions. We will work together to create a plan that works for you and addresses your needs; each client is different so each treatment plan should be different!
My therapeutic approach is client-centered and infuses aspects of CBT, while adding in a variety of modalities for different client concerns. My focus areas include anxiety, depression, panic disorder, life changes and transitions, adjustment concerns, and more. Mental health concerns can feel so isolating, and I want my clients to know that they are not alone. I am here to listen, support, and help one step at a time. Therapy can seem intimidating and my goal is to make it as accessible and beneficial as possible.
