College students face an immense amount of pressure to succeed in the classroom. However, it is not only the pressure to excel academically, it is the need to figure out what you are going to do as a career for the rest of your life! Oh, and then on top of that, you need to have a social life, practice self-care, and maintain all the relationships in your life. Also, don’t worry about finances — you can always take out loans, you will be able to pay them back someday, right? This is easy, be happy and enjoy the best years of your life they say.

Therapy for college students is accessible at most universities — however, is it enticing enough? Students may be concerned about their families finding out they are in therapy, they may think their professors will find out and think they need extra attention in the classroom. These are all valid worries of college students across the world. Therapy for college students is essential. All of those challenges I stated above can cause students stress, anxiety, and depressive symptoms. Students need support and access to help to feel less alone.

Sometimes just making it through the day can be a challenge. Graduate students understand the pressures of being in college and managing the struggles of self-care. Graduate therapists can be a great resource for undergraduate or graduate students looking for someone to talk to about their adversities. Virtual therapy can make this accessible to college students who are known for having little time in their weekly schedules. Virtual therapy can help students when it feels like everyone is against them. I’m sure we have all felt that once or twice in our college years. Sol Health strives to provide graduate therapists the platform to use virtual therapy for college students!

Virtual therapy can be convenient as you do not need to travel to an in-person appointment. All you need is a safe, quiet place and a device to connect with your therapist. Virtual therapy is growing not only for its convenience but also for its ability to connect people with therapists they would never have had the opportunity to work with otherwise. You may have reservations about therapy with someone you never met over the phone, right? I totally understand that, it would be a little weird if you didn’t! Sol Health’s therapists are trained to make clients feel safe, seen, and heard. They are also trained to simply get to know the person they are working with because it feels so much better communicating with a person who you feel comfortable with. Virtual therapy can provide this safe space, and you can avoid those long wait times that in-person offices tend to have.

After reading this message, you may be thinking to yourself, "I wonder if virtual therapy can be the right fit for me." Take some time to reflect on your current habits, routines, and schedules. Are you a college student who feels overwhelmed? Anxious? Worried about the future? Are you looking for skills to apply to your life that can help you reduce your stress levels and reach your goals? Look internally and ask yourself, "What would happen if I put myself and my needs first? What would my life look like in a year if I took the time to go to therapy and gain insight into how to take better care of myself?"

Are you done thinking yet? If you are, take no more time and set up an appointment with a Sol Health therapist-in-training today! We look forward to sharing your time and allocating a space where you feel safe and valued!
